Do you know what semi-permanent make-up is? It’s a form of tattooing, thanks to which you can have perfect eyebrows without any effort. However, it has many disadvantages. It’s good to know them and find out how to take care of your eyebrows after this treatment.
The growing popularity of semi-permanent make-up shows that more and more people are getting convinced to try. We are tired of doing make-up every day, especially when beautifully emphasized eyebrows is a must. We want to have perfect eyebrows but our natural ones are too thin, too light and too sparse. Permanent make-up seems to be an ideal solution then.
What are the advantages of semi-permanent make-up?
- It is relatively permanent because the effects last up to 2 years.
- It allows you to have beautiful eyebrows regardless of time or day.
- It embellishes our brow arch.
Semi-permanent eyebrow make-up
Usually we talk only about positive aspects of permanent make-up – beautiful, expressive and perfectly highlighted eyebrows. If the make-up was done with the microfeathering technique, that is each hair was ‘drawn’ separately, it can be indistinguishable from the natural eyebrows.
This is the bright side of permanent make-up that was created to mask the imperfections. What else happens with eyebrows after permanent make-up? Immediately after the treatment, the entire skin on the eyebrow is strongly inflamed, which lasts for about 2-3 hours. The more delicate and sensitive the skin is, the longer it will take to heal. Because it involves insensibilisation, the skin in the place of injection can be brighter. This is the effect of vasoconstriction. It disappears once the insensibilisation stops working.
The effects
The eyebrows just after the treatment have a much darker colour than they should. This means that for the first days the effect is exaggerated and comic. Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided and this is something we need to accept if we want to have beautiful eyebrows later.
Why are eyebrows just after the treatment dark? The dye in the skin darkens in the first few days. Even 50% of the ink pigment naturally flakes off during the first week. This is when we finally have the eyebrows we wanted.
Semi-permanent eyebrow make-up aftercare
Proper care is very important because it allows you to maintain the results for a longer period of time. Just after the treatment, the lingerist should instruct you on which cosmetics to use (moisturising not oiling).
After having your eyebrows done, it’s recommended to follow a few simple rules, thanks to which the eyebrows will be beautiful and healthy:
- do not rub them hard,
- do not wash your face with ordinary soap,
- use a special cream with vitamin E,
- protect your eyebrows from the sun,
- you cannot use the sauna, swimming pool and SPA,
- make sure your skin is moisturised.
Eyebrow conditioners
Should eyebrow conditioners be used by women who underwent a permanent cosmetics application? Yes, of course. A good eyebrow serum not only enhances growth but also strengthens, moisturises, nourishes and thickens the eyebrows. However, keep in mind that permanent make-up can weaken natural eyebrows and, after some time, the colour fades. It’s good to look after your eyebrows to make them healthy and beautiful when permanent make-up ceases to mask any imperfections.
