There is a variety of brow fillers available these days. I’ve been testing pomades by several brands recently. How do they work on my brows, which accessories I use for application and what the final effect is? Find the answers below 🙂
What is a brow pomade?
Eyebrow pomade is a bit difficult to manage but once you get the hang of it, you will get the effect of bold, beautifully-enhanced brow arches. It has a characteristic consistency: both creamy and solid. This, in turns, translates to the product drying out pretty fast (you can tackle the problem by adding a few eye drops).
Who’s eyebrow pomade dedicated to? It’s the best pick for sparse brows, patchy brows, very thin brow hair. Thanks to the product you can draw thin lines making brows appear fuller. On the other hand, it might be problematic to use it if you have thick, bushy brows.
How to use an eyebrow pomade?
A pomade is a bit tricky. If you don’t use it right, you might end up with clumpy brow hair. Remember that most pomades are waterproof. For flawless make-up, you need to:
- prime the brows, ideally, apply a bit of loose powder and take off the excess with a spoolie. This keeps pomades in place longer;
- open the jar and get some product on the brush (most pomades should be used immediately after taken out of the jar so don’t linger);
- use the brush to work the product from side to side on your hand; otherwise, you’ll just create a big smudge instead of thin, hair-like lines;
- make sure you apply most product on the brow end as it should be the darkest;
- apply some concealer under the brows to add definition and cover up possible smudges.
How to pick the best brow pomade brush?
You won’t get beautiful brow look even if you’ve got the best pomade but the lousiest brush. This accessory must meet certain criteria and have the right rigidity, elasticity, length, shape of the bristle and be equipped with a spoolie.
